Within the framework of the European Week of Sport, the Phytech Youth project is a remarkable example, brought by a highly skilled consortium regarding the world of physical activity in youth, with a special focus on the use of digital technologies for physical activity, their main strenghts and threats for young people.
The activities of the project concern a deep exploration of what digital technologies to use for improving the physical activity in youth and what are the limits and opportunities inherently connected to each of them.
The activities proposed by the Phytech Youth consortium are the following:
- A systematic literature review on digital technologies used for physical activity purposes, culminating into a Guideline document for relevant stakeholders in the fields of youth and sport.
- An online platform guiding youth around the complex world of digital technologies for physical activity purposes
- An international training gathering young people from the three partner countries aimed at informing and engaging in using digital tools for physical activity and wellbeing.
The project’s activities are implemented in collaboration with Bolu Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports (Bolu, Turkey), Slovak Sport Organization (Bratislava, Slovakia) and IRSEI ETS (Palermo, Italy), and aim to promote a healthy use of technology for physical activity, and as mentioned, aligning with the objectives of the European Week of Sport. This Week of Sport is promoting sports activities all over European countries, highlights the importance of physical activity to improve both mental and physical well-being, encouraging participation at the local and community level.
